KAREN MILLER, MS, CCC-SLP
Karen Miller, MS, CCC-SLP, is a licensed speech-language pathologist in both Pennsylvania and Colorado, as well as a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She earned her Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences from West Chester University in 1994 and her Master's degree in Communication Disorders from Nova Southeastern University.
With decades of experience, Karen has worked in diverse environments including public and private schools, university clinics, skilled nursing facilities, private practices, both home-based and clinical early intervention settings, brain trauma units at metropolitan hospitals, and adult and geriatric rehabilitation centers. However, her primary focus has been with pediatrics, where she has extensively supported toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children. Her expertise includes diagnosing and treating a range of communication disorders such as receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation issues, apraxia, stuttering, autism spectrum disorders, social skills challenges, auditory processing disorders, developmental delays, non-verbal communication, and the use of AAC devices. Karen has also authored and published a children’s book and has been a guest lecturer at Penn State University.
Recently, Karen relocated to Crested Butte from Pennsylvania with her family. Her husband, Keith, is an opera singer and Colorado native, who has deep connections to the valley, including a long-standing involvement with both Western and the Crested Butte Music Festival. The couple has three children and two dogs. Karen enjoys exploring the outdoors and all kinds of adventures with her family.
